My Journey as an English Teacher

My name is Rupert Crisswell, and I am an English teacher with over 20 years of experience in some of the top private and state schools in the UK. Throughout this time, I’ve had the privilege of guiding hundreds of students toward academic excellence.

Here’s why I chose to dedicate my career to teaching English:

• A Passion for the Subject: My love for English Literature drives me to share its richness and beauty with my students, helping them unlock its transformative power.

• A Belief in Tailored Support: I firmly believe that my A Level tutoring programme is the most effective way to support students in mastering this challenging subject.

• A Commitment to Lifelong Learning: I view education as the greatest gift we can offer, fostering growth and opportunity in every student.

Over the years, I began to notice a pattern. The students who consistently excelled focused on three core areas, setting themselves apart from their peers. By incorporating these principles into my teaching, I’ve seen remarkable results:

• Alex improved from a C grade in his Year 12 mock to an A grade, achieving full marks in his coursework.

• Theo, despite missing much of Year 12 due to playing cricket for England, rose from a U in his mock to a C grade, securing his place at his first-choice university.

• Dani achieved an A* and was accepted to read English Literature at Oxford University.
